TED is an annual event that brings together the world’s leading thinkers and doers to share ideas that matter in any discipline.
“TED” stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design — three broad subject areas that are, collectively, shaping our future. The talks at the conference, called “TEDTalks”, are then made free at TED.com.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program
called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxHuntsville, where x=independently organized TED event. At our first TEDxHuntsville event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program,
but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
Open Session
This TEDxHuntsville event will be held on February 28, 2010 at the Madison Public Library. Through this open session, TEDxHuntsville will:
- Watch TEDTalks submitted from users like you and have open discussions about them.
- Share the new plans from TED and TEDx organizners.
- Discuss ideas and thoughts for future TEDxHuntsville events and deciding on future speakers/themes/etc.
